The Story of Cowboy McCombs

Dr. Herbert Cueto and his wife Donna were the former owners of Dr. McCombs' Falls Church practice.  When Dr. McCombs took over, Donna and Dr. Cueto headed to Arizona.  (Incidentally, Orthodontists never seem to retire.  At the tender age of 75, Dr. Cueto became the oldest person to ever get his Arizona dental license!)  

Donna has painted for most of her life and really became interested in painting cowboys.  They've traveled all over the Southwest to re-enactment events where Donna takes a zillion photographs and comes home to put them in oil.
 
When she heard Pam and Dr. McCombs were getting married, that's what she wanted to do for a wedding gift - paint Dr. McCombs as a cowboy.  Problem was, she needed a photo to work from.  Pam got him all dressed up in the closest things he had to cowboy gear and told him to strike a pose.  Didn't tell him why.
 
A few weeks later, this is the wonderful result!  Although Donna complained that she had a terrible time with his eyes (she said at times he looked like Jack Nicholson) she did a great job of capturing Sheriff Mike McCombs, Tooth Doc, which is on his star.
